Use for weight monitoring in international programs
We bought and tested this equipment side-by-side with a digital Seca scale that we usually use for the purpose of monitoring weight in feeding programs. We found that the weights were consistent and we just needed to make sure that it was well-supported on a very flat surface so that the center piece (seen when it is opened) did not twist at all (local participants built us a small wooden platform). The scale was easy to transport in carry on luggage (don't like to check in such things) and allowed the field workers to complete their work without a problem. it is best suited for children, but adults can be weighed if they are steadied as they step onto the scale. We will be ordering more and even leaving some behind for the programs to continue their monitoring work beyond our time there.
